As Head Chair for the APIC “Asian Pacific Islander Council” I, along with my Council Chairs and Co-Chairs currently representing six (6) Asian cultures and three (3) Pacific Islander cultures in the State of Nevada, we stand united against all hate crimes in our communities.
It saddens us all that we MUST speak up and reach out in these manners in all communities to stand against hatred, blame and indifference. Simply put, the current state of affairs makes no sense. Whether a person is white, black, yellow, red or brown skin — the bottom line is that anyone who only sees color, race or gender is missing out on the most important attribute that needs to be seen, THE HUMAN RACE.
Regardless where any of our roots originally derive from, Nevada is our home. For us, the Silver State really has become our Silver lining of HOPE and SUPPORT. We express our gratitude to the support from the Federal, State, Cities, and Counties officials. This is especially true of our vigilant law enforcement officers, Fire and rescue men and women and first responders who put their lives on the line every sing day. WE THANK YOU AND WE LOVE.
As a twenty plus year veteran SAG-Actor playing police officers, security guards to bad guy characters, the one thing I do not act or take lightly are simple words of wisdom. Safety first. And should you see something, say something.
Lastly, on behalf of the APIC 12-member council, we strive to convey as Nevadans, as American citizens and most importantly as community family, friends, and human beings one simple message: Let us be kind and polite. Let us share respect, compassion, and humanity towards one another, especially to our elderly members.
In closing, API council has devoted our mission and organization in …
Community UNITED!
Community SUPPORTIVE!
Community STRONG!
Respectfully,
APIC Head Chair, Mr. Sidney S Liufau
